[1] Gallagh: The O'Kellys were expelled from Gallagh by an English military officer named Blakeney; so that the site of Gallagh is the present Castle Blakeney situated between Mount Bellew and Ballinasloe. The modern Gallagh near Tuam was so called in honour of the ancient seat of that name.
