PIOBAIRE, PIOBAR, PIOBART, Pippart, Pipard, Pippard, Piper, Pyper, Pipper, Pepper, Peppard, &c. This surname came into Ireland about the time of the Anglo-Norman invasion. I can find no satisfactory explanation of its origin.
