PIONDAR—XII—Pindar, Pinder, Pender, &c.; Norman 'le Pinder,' i.e., the pinder or pindar, keeper of a pound. But probably in the great majority of instances Pinder, Pender, &c, are shortened forms of Prendergast. See Piondargás.
